I support Barack Obama

If you disagree with my opinions, I respect that. However I ask that you respect my freedom to speak about my own views. I believe it is my duty to speak out about this election and my feelings about it--and my right to do so on my own diary, to document this time in our collective history, and to attempt to make a small difference in this world.

I have never felt more strongly about any political race in the history of my life--including the time Mike Taylor ran against Max Baucus for Senate and if you knew me back then you would know how I had ranted and raved about that one.

I believe in Colin Powell and his inherrent goodness. I would like to echo the things that he has said on today's Meet the Press. I am a proud supporter of Barack Obama and am proud that Colin Powell recognizes that he is the superior candidate in this election.

I have looked directly into the eyes of Barack Obama. I have shook his hand. I have seen his good and strong soul. I am 100% proud to support him in his bid to be President of the USA. I am only scared of what will become of us if he is not elected.

This brought tears to my eyes. The first minute or so is an example of the worst fear-mongering and hatred this country has to offer. The rest is a tale of inspiration and progress.

Hope -- not hate.
